Parliamentarians play key roles to adopt legislation, shape policy, decide on budgets and ensure government accountability on issues relating to nuclear disarmament.  In the globalised world of the 21st Century, parliamentarians have to engage in regional and international forums in order to advance cooperative security, reduce the reliance on national defence and military approaches to security, and achieve global abolition.

This event will focus on progress for nuclear abolition in the Inter Parliamentary Union, Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe and other inter-parliamentary forums – and how this can help civil society advance nuclear disarmament in their own countries.

A United Nations pass is required. Please contact us by Friday April 25 if you want to attend and do not have a UN pass.
